| Posted on 2007-09-25 00:00:00 by Deetv: Blocking Users |
| Due to some members using the private message service to have a private dispute, it came to my attention that the option to block a user was not working correctly. This has now been fixed so that a blocked user cannot send you messages.
Please do not use the comments area either for private disputes. The comments will get deleted. It takes one click to delete them and you many more to write!
Trans-Ville.com was setup as a bit of fun, a place to network and show off your best self, if you like. Remember that all members are entitled to vote as they feel. If you get a couple of low votes, don't take it to heart, it's not going to affect your overall ranking!

| Posted on 2006-11-21 20:33:20 by piratepete: Stats, voting, and all that jazz... |
| As most of you you probably know, the site has been, and stop me if I'm being melodramatic here, plagued with fraudulent voting. That was stopped about a month ago, but the stats weren't updated in line with that until we had built up enough data (votes) to try and re-estimate the average again. People who were not engaged in dodgy voting practises should expect their average to remain the same- others who experienced targeted average lowering should see theirs rise, and others will see it fall. The average is now set to be a rolling 30 day average, meaning that people who have been here since dinosaurs roamed the earth don't get too unfair an advantage, and it encourages people to vote again- though not before the thirty days are up. more... |

| Whilst doing some routine maintenance it was discovered that some members emails addresses where not current. This causes a problem if we need to contact you.
Please ensure that your profile email address is a current one. If we try to contact you and there is a failure, Trans-Ville reserve the right to delete that profile ID. more... |

| Hopefully users of the excellent Firefox web browser (possibly other non-Internet Explorer browsers, too?) should now be able to reply to private messages, as well as send them.
There should also be no more messages getting annoyingly truncated in certain circumstances. Can't have just been me seeing this...
As always, let us know if you find further brokeness. more... |
| Posted on 2005-05-02 00:00:00 by piratepete: Undoing the zeroes |
| Hi. As you may have noticed, a little while back, we got rid of the option to vote someone a zero.
Apart from the sheer unpleasantness of getting a zero- none of our beloved members deserve one! -there were two issues.
One was that some people thought it meant "don't vote, just skip"- it didn't. If you want to do that, a link is to be found to the left of the image.
Secondly, it was getting abuse from some users for whom it wasn't enough to continually vote for their friends, but wanted to hurt the score of those they saw as competitors. You know who you were, and *shame on you*!
Having got rid of the option, it was time to fix the damage, so all effects of having been voted a zero have been reversed. more... |
